Painting

Originally from El Salvador, he began studying drawing and painting since the age of 14, later studied restoration and conservation. He enrolled in architecture school but did not complete his studies.

He emigrated with his family to Los Angeles, California, in 2005. In 2010, he moved to Iowa, where he settled in the small town of Kiron. He distanced himself from artistic production for 20 years, during which time he thought he would never paint again, but in 2020, he returned to the path of art.

His search for his identity as an artist has led him through different trends in painting expression. Academicism and costumbrism were the first forms he experimented with, but it was in surrealism and magical realism that he found the forms that best suited his work. A lover of large formats, where floating human figures, birds, and moving backgrounds come together in layers of warm, vibrant juxtaposed colors that convey strength and, in some cases, serenity, all as part of a symbolism that always seeks to convey his experiences and principles.

Despite his intermittent artistic output, he has held solo and group exhibitions, winning awards in his home country and in the state of Iowa.
