Denice Peters is an award winning national artist working with soft pastel chalk medium. She creates realistic paintings from still life to landscapes. Her work focuses on strong light contrast and mood along with some nostalgia. Her work is collected all across the US and can be found in Mexico and England. She has painted with pastels for over 30 years. That experience and the time she took to hone her own talent has garnered her awards in national and international competitions, and articles in major art magazines. She’s a juried member of the IGOR, International Guild of Realism, and has achieved signature status in Pastel Society of America, MidAmerican Pastel Society and Iowa Pastel Society. She also teaches pastel painting workshops.

She will be opening her home studio to the public. She doesn’t hold public hours so don’t miss the chance to see her work at 2507 Riverview Dr, Denison, IA.
